President’s Report: President Gooding to Resign, Effective March 1st

Hello FOAMers. It has been a delight and an honor to be a FOAM member, as well as to volunteer in various offices for many years now. I must, unfortunately, tender my resignation from office. I have been offered a position as Production Manager for Intuition Aleworks in Jacksonville, Florida, and as a result I’m moving the family down the first week of next month.

I have absolute confidence in our officers to continue on in my absence. The club constitution states that it is the responsibility of the President to fill any vacancies that may occur in between elections, so my final official act will be to ask Desiree Knott to serve as interim FOAM President, until such time as elections may be held, either in accordance with the standard constitutional timeline, or beforehand, as the board of officers determines.

As Desiree will need to vacate her current position as VP of Communications, Ryan Friedl has agreed to take that position in the interim.

I’m very proud of the work we’ve done together, from updating the club branding and website, to increasing the amount of participation in the club, expanding officer roles, and organizing the club’s first beer festival. I am glad to have played a small part in continuing the legacy of this great club’s 37-year history.

I’m going to miss you all very much, and will always carry the fond memories of the times we have shared together. I wish there were the time and ability to say goodbye in a proper club meeting gathered around the jockey box, but I do commit to returning in May or June for a more official “send-off.” In the meantime, I will host FOAM’s monthly Zoom happy hour meetup next Thursday, February 25th, at 5 p.m. I hope to see you all there. This link will get you in.

Cheers,

Your Friend, Marion Gooding
