President’s Report for January

This is not the greatest bitter in the world, no. This is just a tribute!

As we roll into the new year we are greeted by new opportunities and our first of many club exclusive competitions for the year.  What do I speak of you ask?  January is our Reverse Pro-Am competition.  Marshall Brewing Company has graciously shared with us their award winning recipe for McNellie’s Pub Ale (see recipe here).  The Challenge presented to us is take their full scale recipe, modify to our batch size, adjust brew house efficiency, and faithfully recreate the original.  Head brewer and Certified beer judge Cody Driscoll will be on hand to judge which comes closest to capturing the lightning in a bottle that is this beer.  Side note.  Praise from Pete Polczynski in this beer category specifically (11A, 11B, and 11C) is to be highly coveted and should be accepted with humility.

Officer’s meeting for 2023

Our first officer’s meeting for club business will be Saturday January 28th at 3 p.m at Pippins Taproom.  All members are encouraged to come to “see how the sausage is made” and have their voices heard.  Any recommendations or concerns that can’t be made in person can be sent to me at President@alemakers.org and I will make sure said topics are discussed at the meeting.
