It’s time for our June meeting, where the theme of the month is hoppy beer. Bring your best hopped-up hooch to the hill and let’s all share. I’ll be giving a tech talk and Q&A on all things hops.
The first Tulsa Craft Beer Invitational was a success last month, and I want to thank everyone who participated by bringing beer, volunteering, organizing, setting up, spreading the word, and attending the event. It was a well-attended festival for a first year deal, and a commended event as well. All of the brewers we spoke to during and after the festival remarked on how smoothly everything went, and how well organized. In the post-mortem meeting we decided to do it again next year. If you didn’t have a chance to participate this year for some reason, you’ll want to plan ahead to be a part of it next time. It was a lot of fun. We will set a meeting date in the next few months for initial planning of next year’s festival. I’ll post to let everyone know when that will be.

Don’t forget, next Saturday (June 22) at noon Dead Armadillo is doing a wort giveaway for FOAM members. So sanitize a five gallon bucket and plan to be there. You can take it home later and boil it up and hop it however you like. Then we all get back together at DA on August 17 to taste them. There will be some celebrity judges on hand to evaluate their favorite finished beer and just might be some prizes in it for the winner.
