August Meading – “Who Mead it Better?”

It’s our August meeting and you know what that means?
It’s mead month and it’s time to judge this year’s Who Mead it Better entries!

Here’s how it works:

Participants will receive a set amount of honey and will be told to add an additional ingredient (e.g. blueberries) to be named by the competition organizers.

Participants bring 2 bottles to the August Mead Meeting. One bottle will be judged at the meeting and the second bottle will be held for an additional year and judged at the next August Mead Meeting.
Last year’s special ingredient was nutmeg. This year the special ingredient is orange. Any kind of orange.
We will have Alex Long and Jeff Swearengin judging the entries to determine the winners and then the bottles will be brought out for everyone to try. (Entrants may bring bring extra bottles for FOAMers to open in addition to the judging bottles.)
Since this is mead month we also want to encourage members not participating in the competition to brings their meads to share too!
