Hey there fellow FOAMers. I can’t believe it’s May already. Our next meeting is tomorrow, May 13th and the beer theme of the month is extract beers, on which I will be doing a short tech talk. I know a few members brewed extract batches just for this meeting so come on out and give them a try!
An update on the Iron Brewer Competition: Right now we have 4 teams registered and several looking for a team. For those not familiar, the Iron Brew competition concept is taken from the Iron Chef television show. The general idea is for teams of homebrewers to test their recipe formulation and brewing skills by brewing a beer from previously-unknown ingredients. Teams must include at least two brewers with a max of 6, including the team captain. Teams need to register before May 18th so we can get all the ingredients in time for the event.
The brew date is Saturday, May 22nd and will be conducted at High Gravity. If you haven’t registered your team yet, here’s the link: Iron Brewer Registration
Pub Meetup: May’s pub meetup will be at The Cape Brewing Company, located in Jenks. Meetup day and time is May 27th at 5:30 and will go for as long as everyone wants to hang around.
The beer theme for June’s meeting is hoppy beers so start brewing that beer now!
Progress continues for this year’s Tulsa Craft Beer Invitational. Look for more information on volunteering soon.
One last thing to mention is membership dues. When you check-in at the meeting take a look and make sure your membership is current. If it isn’t you can renew at the meeting.
