FOAM mark FOAM Est. 1984

About FOAM.For brewers and the people who drink with them.

FOAM stands for the Fellowship of Oklahoma Ale Makers. We are Tulsa's homebrew club, pouring since 1984. We meet the second Thursday of every month at Hope Unitarian, 7:30 PM. Members bring what they have been making: beer, cider, wine, mead. Everyone tastes, and the conversation takes it from there.

Visitors are always welcome. No skill test, no entrance ritual. Show up, taste a few things, and decide if we are your people.

For brewers

Wherever you are on the curve.

First time using extract? Welcome. Pulled apart your kettle six times this year? Also welcome. Members bring whatever they are proud of: a dialed-in recipe, a new experiment, or an entry for that month's challenge.

Got questions? Find the person who made the drink you liked and ask.

For the people who drink with them

You do not have to brew.

FOAM is built on people who love good beer and good company. You do not have to know how to brew, or even have aspirations to do so. You are welcome at every meeting. Taste the flight, talk to the room, bring a friend who is curious.

If you want to start brewing later, every brewer in the room remembers their first batch and is happy to point you at where to begin. Until then, just enjoy the beer.

How a meeting actually goes. Roughly.

  1. People arrive.

7:30 PM at Hope Unitarian. People drift in, set bottles on the table, connect kegs to dispensers, and catch up. Newcomers usually find someone who looks friendly and ask what is going on. Everyone is.

  2. The brews.

Members bring anything they are proud of showing off, a new experiment, or their entry for that month's challenge. There is always a wide variety of fermented drinks to try: beer, cider, wine, mead.

  3. Strictly business.

A short club meeting to catch everyone up on upcoming events, competitions, festivals, and club business.

  4. Let the good times roll.

The rest of the night. We share our beer, we share food, and we share tips and tricks with anyone curious. The technical talk happens naturally here: find the owner of a beverage you like and ask your questions.

  5. People depart.

You do not have to go home, but you cannot stay here. We clean up and are out the doors by 9:30. The conversations usually move to the parking lot.
