My Fellow FOAMers,
We intrepid homebrewers aren’t used to shying away from hazards, but it is the judgment of your FOAM Executive Board that we should take the advice of the CDC and seek to help our fellow citizens by avoiding crowds that could spread coronavirus to the most vulnerable among us.
As a result, we will be cancelling all upcoming FOAM events through the end of May. This will include:
- Monthly meetings
- Pub Meetups
- Iron Brewer
- King of the Pearl Festival
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and the government recommendations for gatherings, and adjust our social calendar accordingly. Of course, this frees up lots of spare time for brewing, so there’s our silver lining. We should all be stocked and ready for beer competitions when this is all over with.
In the meantime, we can all keep in touch via our website. Officers can still post reports, and we can all participate in the forums and in groups. We can also continue to keep in touch with the Telegram messaging app that is available on iPhone and Android. if you haven’t joined the FOAM Telegram chat yet, here is a link: https://t.me/alemakers
We’re not the first ones to brew our way through a plague, so take heart. Take care of yourselves out there.
