April is Food and Beer Pairing Month
Don’t forget that April is our Food and Beer Pairing Club Competition! This is always a great meeting. If you would like to compete, find yourself a partner and click here to register your team (only one person needs to register for the team). For those new to the club, teams will brew a beer and prepare a dish to pair with it. 2 award categories are judged, Savory and Sweet. Typically one person does the food and the other brews the beer, but teams can decide how they want to do it. The winners are based on popular vote and should be decided by how well the beer and food complements and enhances each other.
FOAM Officers Meeting
Officers held their first meeting of the year on March 1st. Several topics were discussed. Look for meeting minutes to be posted soon.
Meeting highlights:
- Increase awareness of FOAMer and Homebrewer of the year standings by promoting monthly and announcing who’s in the lead at meetings.
- Replace the Iron Brewer Club Competition with a new “Mash Your Luck” comp. Details coming soon.
- Expand participation with FOAM Cup by adding a food committee and prize committee.
- Look into FOAM Club work-shirts.
