SUMMARY:Who Mead it Better? - August Meading
DESCRIPTION:It’s our August meeting and you know what that means?\nIt’s mead month and it’s time to judge this year’s Who Mead it Better entries! \nHere’s how it works:\nParticipants will receive a set amount of honey and will be told to add an additional ingredient (e.g. blueberries) to be named by the competition organizers. \nParticipants bring 2 bottles to the August Mead Meeting. One bottle will be judged at the meeting and the second bottle will be held for an additional year and judged at the next August Mead Meeting. \nLast year’s special ingredient was nutmeg. This year the special ingredient is orange. Any kind of orange. \nWe will have 2-3 special judges to determine the winners and then the bottles will be brought out for everyone to try. (Entrants may bring bring extra bottles for FOAMers to open in addition to the judging bottles.) \nSince this is mead month we also want to encourage members not participating in the competition to brings their meads to share too! \nMeeting Date: August 14th at 7pm\nMeeting Location: Hope Unitarian Church \nAgenda:\n7:00-7:30 p.m. Doors open for set-up\n7:30-8:00 p.m. Business Meeting\nWelcome and Introductions – David Thompson\, FOAM President\nOfficer’s Reports\n– Old Business\n– New Business\n– Announcements\n8:00-9:20 p.m. Drink meads!\n8:00-9:00 p.m. Judges judge the meads.\n9:00-9:10 p.m. Announce winners!\n9:20-9:30 p.m. Cleanup
