DESCRIPTION:Please arrive by noon\, as we will be eating shortly there after. Cody Cannon and Tim McCracken will make sure there is plenty of meat available. I think we will be having smoked brisket for lunch and griddled burgers for anyone that stays around in the evening. And I will have ice cold water\, tea and lemonade available also.   \nPlease bring the following:\nSide dish (salad\, dessert\, veggie trays\, chips and dip\, whatever)\nBeer\nLawn chairs\nBeer\nOutdoor games (cornhole\, etc.)\nBeer (Did I mention that?)\nOther beverages (alcoholic or not) are welcome also \nUnlike previous picnics\, this one does not have a set ending time\, so come early and stay late – including into the evening hours. I have a large shaded yard\, and beautiful sunset views! It’s a picnic and after party all in one! \nATTENTION EVERYONE: Even if you haven’t been to a meeting in a while (or a few years) please know you are welcome at the picnic. We would love for new members to have the opportunity to meet and learn from the “experienced” home brewers. And it’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends. \nParking: There is a some parking in the cul-de-sac. You can park on either Forest Ridge Blvd or Ashton. Ashton has much less traffic\, but please be sure to park only on the north side (along my side yard) so as not to block access to the Ashton neighborhood.   (see the referenced map for details). I don’t recommend parking on Ashton beyond my yard due to your car possibly being bombarded by uncontrolled golf balls.

DESCRIPTION:Learn to Homebrew Day this year is November 5th from Noon-6ish.\nFOAMers are encouraged to brew in front of High Gravity. \nThis year we are encouraging FOAMers to brew extract beers. The reason for this is simple. Extract brewing is more approachable.\nHigh Gravity is covering the cost of ingredients up to $40. You must be a member of FOAM. \nSetup starts at 11:00am. You are responsible for your own equipment. High Gravity will have hoses and a water filter. \nEveryone is encouraged to bring homebrew to share with everyone. We will have the FOAM jockey setup outside. \nYou need to register to brew but not to come hang out and help answer brewing questions. We are capping participation to 10 brewers so register ASAP if you want to brew. \nClick here to register.

DESCRIPTION:The first of a new series of events occurring every other month where brewers present and examine a variable in the brewing process. \nCody Cannon has cultured yeast from the dregs of a Jester King bottle. Bootleg Biology also markets a Jester King yeast. Cody brewed a split batch and fermented with each. We’ll be breaking down the differences and similarities while discussing yeast harvesting\, propagation\, and storage.

If you have any trouble with the registration form\, please email me at VP-Competitions@alemakers.org \nThere will be an award for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place. \nOnce again\, we are using peoples choice to select the winners! Due to feedback about last year’s voting process\, we will be limiting votes to one per FOAM member\, two if you have a family membership and your registered family member is present. Any ties will be broken via coin toss.
